After the success of Thrive, Toshibe releasd Excite series. Among them, i prefer Excite X10. Because i care more about the size of the tablet, while excite X10 is the thinnest one, just can be put into my handbag. Besides, it’s 10.1 inch screen also fits me. A tablet is indeed a portable media player for me, the screen is neither too big nor too small.

Recently, i often purchase movies from iTunes, most of them with .m4v extension. One day, i tried to stream these M4v movies to Excite X10 for playing, but it’s failed. There must be something wrong. Later, i learned that iTunes movies are protected by some special copyright protection, so the movies only can be transfered to authorized devices. Excite X10 isn’t lucky. Actually, the protection is named DRM, widely used in film industry. Just the DRM stop me transfering iTunes m4v videos to Toshiba Excite.

Since we already know the cause of the problem, next, what should we do is finding a solution. i find there are lots of tools to help us solving the problem. They are called DRM removal. After tried some of them, i decided to use ChewTune. Which is fast and esay to use. It could convert iTunes m4v movies to Toshiba Excite compatible h.264 mp4 format in a short time.
